Is it out of place to not want to place names to natural phenomena?

Is it out of place to not want to believe in fairies and gnomes and gods and goddesses that 'govern' natural phenomena? As soon as I mention any absence of name to rite and ritual, I get anathematised by pagans whom were once acquaintances. I put no names to the universe's workings. I do not believe the universe is a loving one (how can it be?) I have an Einsteinian view of things in this world and beyond. I really have no faith, religion, dogma, or mantra for anything I deem sacred. I mean, the moon is in front of you plain and simple, so why must modern people put a human face and name to it? Sorta like gilding the lily, what say you all?
