Should the mental American state say what we in Britain should have on our internet?

Ok, please remember that there is an enormous difference between a "proposed law" and a law. In the U.S. any member of the House of Representatives, many of which are elected from very small, rural, districts may put forth a piece of legislation for consideration. 99% of these proposed laws never even make it to a formal vote as they are simply ridiculous. President Obama has no control over what some hillbilly representative proposes, but he does believe strongly in free speech and also has the power to veto any legislation that somehow manages to get ped by Congress, which this one will not GUARANTEED. Please don't worry about this. It is a non-issue.
