Can you identify a picture that I can't seem find anywhere ?

Years ago I remember watching a TV doentary about what must have been a quite well known artist and there was a shot of a picture which I have never seen since and cannot find on the internet. The picture was monochrome, probably a drawing, showing basically what looked like an inverted 'U' shape stone doorway like you get in very old barns in the UK, which was completely black inside apart from what appeared to be several pairs of quite sinister looking eyes staring out at various heights - does anyone know what this is?
