any type of garter snake or ribbon snake or green snake rough or smooth they eat fish and worms crickets all snakes eat meat but some are insectivorous and that would be your best bet and then go from there if you are willing to clean the tank though there is no smell i own 6 snakes and I'm getting more and more one snake is over 8 feet long who lived with a 7 footer both pythons and since i keep the cages clean no smell good luck
