1988 MR2 Car trouble. help?

It's been raining the past couple of days real hard, and i started my car and i felt it kinda sputter to life. but it did drive. yesterday i tried to start it and it wouldn't start! all i could hear is the click of the engine and the click of the battery spark. i checked my air intake and felt tat it was kind of soggy and wet. i blew dry it and then tried again but same thing. it wouldnt start, battery and stuff is fine. . . now i'm wondering could i have gotten some droplets of water into my engine?? if so how is it possible to get it out :( i looked on youtube and then said to remove the spark plugs and keep turning the ignition on and off to blow the water out of the engine. would that work?
