How/Where/Why did you pick your bridesmaids dress?

Ok I am having a bit of a dilema and I just started this (wedding is in october)! My maid of honor is being VERY picky about the dress I want her to wear. My colors are chocolate brown, ivory and burnt orange. I had her try on the dress that I just love and she won't wear it because in her words she felt like a little fat sausage. So she picked out a dress she loved and I feel it is too revealing! She told me she wanted a few months to lose weight (which is not necessary because she is beautiful the way she is, she is a 14 in bridesmaids dresses). The dress I picked out is an Alfred Angelo with a chiffon overlay. I want the chiffon overlay. What do I do? Davids Bridal is NOT a possiblity for me (none in Hawaii).
